The plant-based industry must be embraced and contribute to sustainable dairy production, and the Nordic agriculture stay strong with CO2 emissions at half the global average. These were some of the conclusions in the panel discussion with 5 Nordic dairies supplemented by an Irish industry director.
Young master talents started a Nordic dairy students hub on the first day of the congress program. They were invited to join the Nordic Dairy Congress in a sponsorship program donated by organizations, companies and private delegates. The hub is created to expand networking between the students in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Danmark as well as the UK on mutual interests e.g. exchange, lectures, company visits etc. The Hub is initiated by the Danish Dairy Forum at Copenhagen University.

The Nordic Dairy Congress started on Friday with a panel discussion, where five Nordic dairies represented by Kai Gylstrøm, Arla, Gunnar Hovland, Tine, Robert Auselius Valio Sweden, Poul Johannes Pedersen, Thise, Kai Gyllstrøm, Norrmejerier discussed sustainability including Connor Mulvihill, Dairy Industry Ireland. The panel reported on a large number of projects where CO2 emissions are being improved at several stages of production - both at farm level, at dairies and in the transport sector.
At the Nordic Dairy Congress, the dairy industry and the supplier industry were convinced of a strong position in the global food market in 2050.
The professional part of the Nordic Dairy Congress was launched on Thursday morning, when the 333 participants had found their way to the Clarion Hotel in Malmö. The day began with welcome speeches by Maria Glantz, President of the Nordic Dairy Congress, Marie Paulsson, Chairman of the Programme Committee, and Malmö Mayor Carina Nilsson.
In broad sunshine, the first 250 participants were able to kick off the Nordic Dairy Congress, as Wednesday’s program was primarily held in the networking spirit with golf, canal cruises, and get-together.

We welcome a group of dairy master students joining the Nordic Dairy Congress in a special sponsorship program. A number of donations from organisations, companies as well as private delegates have made it possible for 27 students to enroll and are thus, given a unique chance to learn from a strong dairy program.
The Program Committee and speakers at the Nordic Dairy Congress have kindly donated their personal congress gift to charity. They have donated to either Swedish Red Cross or Dairy without Borders. A total of SEK 13,650 has been transferred to the two organizations. Today diplomas have been wrapped up for the all the benefactors.
