The nutritional value of dairy in future sustainable diets
It is obvious that we need to do something to reduce the climate changes that challenge our planet. It concerns our way of living, our material consumption, the way we transport ourselves – and importantly, also the food we eat.Future sustainable diets must be healthy and climate friendly, but also affordable, available, acceptable, and palatable for consumers. How can we, in the best way possible, combine these factors and compose diets that are suitable for the future consumer?Dairy products can play a very important role in these diets, as dairy contain many important nutrients that are difficult to obtain in large enough quantities in a diet without dairy products. Additionally, dairy products can help consumers in the transition towards climate friendly diets that contain more vegetables, legumes, and less meat.
